We are currently working with a small group of Seacroft residents to design their own walking tours of Seacroft. Each participant will imagine that they are a Seacroft tour guide, and take a broadcaster from Chapel FM on a route featuring sites of personal significance. They will share stories of life in Seacroft and the walk will be documented; the route will be plotted out on a map, the walk will be audio recorded, and we will take pictures along the way. We will preserve the full recording and documentation of each walk at the West Yorkshire Archive Service.
We will edit the recording to form a radio programme, to be aired on Chapel FM and available online as a podcast. These will be aired later in 2021 and you will be able to access them from this page.
We’ll also be holding walking events which include the history of the area as well as personal stories and experiences.
